Last Saturday (November 9th), Max Cavalera led his industrial-metal project Nailbomb project through their first official show in nearly 30 years, during his “Max Cavalera Dynasty Show” in Tempe, Arizona.
The group’s 10-song set at the Marquee Theatre was their first performance since playing the Netherlands’ Dynamo Open Air festival all the way back in 1995, and their return to the stage pretty much hit everything from their 1994 debut album, Point Blank. But while Cavalera got back to Nailbomb business, the band did technically look a lil' different than it did in the Nineties.
As previously reported, the performance did not feature co-founder Alex Newport (Fudge Tunnel), but rather a modified lineup that included Max’s son Igor Cavalera and Pig Destroyer’s Travis Stone on guitar, bassist Johnny Chow (Stone Sour, Cavalera Conspiracy), Pig Destroyer’s Alex Cha on samples, and drummer Adam Jarvis (Misery Index, Pig Destroyer).
All the same, you’ll find fan-shot footage of Nailbomb’s comeback show up above and down below, where you’ll likewise discover the setlist details (via Setlist.fm).
The “Max Cavalera Dynasty Show” likewise featured performances from Soulfly, Go Ahead and Die, Healing Magic, Incite, Jade Helm, Shadow Guilt, Six Million Dead, Ocean Harvest and Zherra.
Nailbomb are also set to appear at next year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival in Derbyshire, U.K. You’ll find the lineup info over here.
