Corde Oblique is an Italian ethereal progressive neofolk band originating from Naples. The project is led by composer and art historian Riccardo Prencipe, who collaborates with various female vocalists and musicians to create a unique blend of Mediterranean progressive and folk music.
Since its inception in 2005, Corde Oblique has released several albums that have been well-received by critics. Their music often draws inspiration from the history of Italian art and the cultural heritage of southern Italy. Over time, the project has evolved to incorporate "FolkGaze" sounds, merging folk elements with shoegaze influences.
Corde Oblique has performed at various international festivals and venues, sharing the stage with bands like Bauhaus, Anathema, and Opeth. They have toured in countries including Italy, China, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Albania.
