Heavy Halo is a Goth-Grunge duo from New York City, formed by McKeever and Gosteffects. Their music blends elements of alternative rock, industrial, and grunge, creating a sound characterized by jagged guitars, raw electronics, and gut-rattling 808s. At their core, Heavy Halo are melody enthusiasts, infusing their tracks with compelling hooks and McKeever's unfiltered vocals.
McKeever studied composition at Columbia University while performing in various DIY venues, whereas Gosteffects was known for producing techno at underground raves across the country. Their collaboration emerged from a shared need to create music, leading to the formation of Heavy Halo.
Their self-titled debut album was released on August 5, 2022, featuring tracks like "Black Seed," "Control You," and "Crush."
