Rioghan

Rioghan is a progressive metal band from Finland, deeply rooted in both gothic and progressive metal scenes.

The band was founded in 2019 by singer and poetess Rioghan Darcy, based in Lapua, Finland.

Initially a solo project, it evolved into a trio with the addition of multi-instrumentalist Teemu Liekkala and drummer Valtteri Revonkorpi.

In 2024, guitarist Tero Luukkonen and bassist Antti Varjanne officially joined the band from the live lineup.

Their debut album, "Different Kinds Of Losses," released in December 2022, was made in collaboration with notable artists such as Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Einar Solberg (Leprous), and Teemu Koskela (ex-Celesty).

The album garnered significant attention, with singles receiving airtime both in Finland and internationally. Following the album's release, Rioghan's monthly listeners on Spotify peaked at 40,000, and their songs were featured in multiple Spotify editorial playlists.

In 2023, Rioghan began performing live, supporting the band Wheel on their "Charismatic Leaders" tour, bringing their stellar show to various cities across Finland, including Tampere, Kuopio, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lahti, and Oulu.

With a new full-length album underway, the first single, "Edge," showcases a more straightforward and aggressive approach, highlighting the astonishing range of Rioghan Darcy’s vocals, djenty guitars, and guest performer Vikram Shankar’s flowing keyboards.
