The Hunger is an American industrial rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in 1989 by brothers Jeff and Thomas Wilson, along with Brian Albritton. Their music blends elements of industrial rock, electronic body music (EBM), and synthpop, creating a distinctive sound that has evolved over the years.

The band gained early recognition with their independently released single "Shock" in 1991, which climbed the dance charts. Subsequent releases like "Cut the Skin" and "Shoot to Kill" further established their presence in the dance and club scenes. Their debut album, Leave Me Alone, was released in 1991, followed by Grip in 1993, which sold 15,000 units and featured a notable cover of Bad Company's "Feel Like Makin' Love." In 1996, they signed with Universal Records and released Devil Thumbs a Ride, featuring the hit single "Vanishing Cream," which reached No. 10 on the Mainstream Rock charts.

Over the years, The Hunger has released several albums, including Cinematic Superthug (1998), Spaceman's Last Goodbye (2001), Finding Who We Are (2005), The Hunger (2020), and Bloodlines (2023).
