Stormwolf Lepanto 7th October 1571

Official lyric video
From the album "Voyager"

“In 1571, the Holy League’s fleet clashed with the Ottoman Empire in the epic Battle of Lepanto. This monumental naval engagement marked the first major victory for a Christian force over the Ottomans, altering the course of Mediterranean history. The battle’s consequences were profound: it paused the Ottoman expansion in the Mediterranean and liberated thousands of enslaved Christians but also, even more important, proved that a Christian alliance could exist and prevail over the crushing ascension of the Sultan’s Empire. The battle saw intense close-quarters fighting, with galleys ramming and boarding each other, and the sky filled with the smoke of cannon fire, while the western rally cry “Recordeve de Famagosta” (remember Famagosta) echoed in the burning mist, reminding of the tragic but heroic Christian defense during the siege of the city. At the eve of the fierce combat the Ottoman center collapsed after the death of Grand Admiral Ali Pasha, sanctioning a sundering victory of the Holy League which will be remembered forever in naval history”.
