This song was born on February 24, 2022 – the day an illegal war was declared against a sovereign state
There are moments in life when you realize that you can’t single-handedly change the injustices in the world, but you still feel an urgent need to do something. In this case, we resorted to what we know best: music.
This song is a declaration of resilience, a voice for those who refuse to be silenced or forced to bow to the terror spread by dictators. It speaks for people who stand their ground and fight for what is rightfully theirs – and who will not let history be rewritten unilaterally.
After all, no one should be forced to leave their homes or families because of ideological, political, or religious persecution escalating into violence and war. The basic human need for a safe haven and a roof over our children and families should be a human right.
Tyrants may rise, but time will crush them like those before. This house is my home, this is our land.

About Bearwood:
Bearwood began as guitarist Marko Karhu‘s vision for a solo project. In 2020, he set out to write guitar-driven rock that transcends genre boundaries. Soon, Marko’s compositions were complemented by evocative lyrics from Matthieu Brandt. After producer and multi-instrumentalist Sami Sallinen, drummer Sami Kuoppamäki, and vocalist Marko Hietala joined in, the solo project turned into a band project with original material scheduled to be released starting late 2024.
Together, the band has forged a unique soundscape where the creative fingerprints of every member can be felt — an electrifying synergy that elevates their music to something greater than the sum of its parts. Bearwood’s music defies convention — an intriguing fusion of rock laced with bluesy undertones, progressive twists, and even a touch of pop. It’s a soundscape that’s as versatile as it is captivating, pulling listeners into a realm where the familiar meets the unexpected.
