A powerful and dramatic dark ballad, the song talks about the impossible and tormented love between Dr. Jekyll and his young housekeeper Mary Reilly, taking inspiration from the story “Mary Reilly, Dr. Jekyll’s Housekeeper” written by Valerie Martin in 1990. Mary is the only person who can understand Jekyll’s drama and who assists him without judging him, trying to save him from the assaults of his cruel avatar Hyde by showing the Entity how true love can lead to sacrifice.
